Our History
Founded under the guidance of Scripture Union (Nigeria), SUi was established following a proposal presented at the 114th National Council meeting in 2024. After thorough deliberation by the National Executive Committee and approval at the 115th and 116th National Council meetings in 2025 at the National Camp of Faith, Okigwe, and the Training and Conference Centre, Ibadan, SUi was officially launched to commence certificate and advanced certificate programs. With a mandate to start as soon as practicable with at least 30 students, SUi builds on SU Nigeria’s legacy of Bible-based ministry to offer transformative education.
The Scripture Union (Nigeria) Institute (SUi) is committed to training people to become committed Christians of God-fearing influence. Aligned with Scripture Union (Nigeria)’s mission, we aim “to reach children, young people, and families, nurturing them through Bible engagement and training people to become committed Christians of influence.” Our programs integrate Christian beliefs with academics, equipping students with theoretical and practical knowledge to develop self-confidence, foster innovation, and serve the Church and humanity with dependence on God.
Through our holistic approach, we empower students to address Nigeria’s challenges—such as corruption and social inequality—with biblical principles and practical skills. Our sustainable initiatives, including a Green Campus and digital learning platforms, ensure accessibility and environmental stewardship. Join SUi to become a transformative leader for God’s kingdom!
Our Vision
“Children, youths, and adults nurtured to Christian maturity, following Jesus and transforming families and the nation Nigeria.” SUi envisions a generation of Christ-centered leaders who impact their communities through faith, integrity, and service.
Our Mission

Our Philosophy
SUi’s educational philosophy is to provide quality education that develops the mind, imparts both theoretical and practical knowledge, builds self-confidence, fosters innovation, and inspires dependence on God. Unlike traditional seminaries, our theology-biased approach focuses on holistic, life-integrated discipleship and leadership, preparing students to address societal challenges like corruption and inequality through Christian ethics and biblical principles.
Our Affiliations
SUi operates under the oversight of the Scripture Union (Nigeria) National Education Board and plans to affiliate with accredited universities for future degree programs, pending registration with regulatory bodies like the National Universities Commission. Our interdenominational appeal strengthens partnerships with local churches, Christian schools, and organizations for broader community impact.
Campus Culture and Spiritual Life
Located at the Scripture Union (Nigeria) Training and Conference Centre in Ibadan, Oyo State, SUi fosters a Christ-centered environment. We emphasize spiritual disciplines—prayer, fasting, Bible meditation, and quiet time—through regular devotionals, retreats, and accountability structures like spiritual mentors and peer groups. Our Green Campus Initiative promotes sustainability with eco-friendly practices, such as solar energy and waste recycling, aligning with our commitment to environmental stewardship. Join us at SUi to grow in faith, develop leadership skills, and become a transformative force for God’s kingdom!
